Working on the folio for submission tomorrow...
Its been so busy for past couple of days, after tomorrow it'll be all over.
It sounds like a good feeling when you hear that, but it feels bad to say that!
It got over when it had started to get interesting and challenging!
I don't want to say thank you to David and that I'm going to miss everyone; coz that will sound like it's the end.
I hope I can continue to implement what we have been taught in past few fantastic months. I hope we all can be in touch..... :)

at last......
After studying a bit about cyanotype printing process (thank you...you tube!) I finally came close to the result that I wanted to achieve. I tried 3 methods and finally the the 4th one made me a bit satisfied!
I also found a few photographers who used cyanotype in theis work. Michel Herin has experimented with cyanotype with even toning the print in tea/coffee.French photographer Ronan Niclot also has experimented with cyanotype and vandykes. I loved the vandyke style. Next I would like to watch how that is made as well.
Till then here is my work with cyanotypes...

Cyanotypes....
For the photography assignment I still am not 100% sure what images I want to use but I like this technique a lot. I used to enjoy working in the darkroom processing images and different results I used to get using different papers, chemicals etc.
In this image even though I have achieved the result on photoshop, I still feel it gives the feel of the old technique.
I want to use Cyanotype as the colour/technique for my photography assignment.
As the subject...I always shoot windows/doors where ever i go. I dont know what is it that attracts me to them...maybe what we see through them or maybe the curiosity...what we cant see through them!
So far this is my idea.

Time runs and we run with it....
This was an interesting assignment. When I started I had a different visual concept decided for it...but as David suggested, rather than sitting and just planning, I started gathering different images I had. From what I had started off with to what I achieved in the end...the image went though many face lifts! And this is what I finally ended up with. I'm quite happy with this one and at the same time scared to touch it with paints! Lets see where I can take it from here!

CANT SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!
After today's class and the inspiring talk from David about the video assignment...I lost my sleep! I came up with the hand idea for my video and was pretty excited about it till I think 4pm...but after that (David's talk) I kinda stated hating it! I wanted to change it! I thought and thought and thought so much that after a point my head was numb!I thought i will sleep over it and start afresh in the morning! I tried too sleep till 2.30(yes AM!!!) but then after that my mind started to wake up. It woke up so wide that i HAD to get out of the bed and get on the blog.
and now I have a brand new idea, I hope it makes sense...(its 3.30 am and at least till now i'm still excited about it!) I think im going to do a video about my pictures. i like taking candid pictures of people, and in my video i want to show a series of candid portraits and a video of the story behind it. I want to video the back of my camera screen, just a short video before/after the 'click' (which gives the feel of a story of the picture.)
My hand is not working as fast as my brain right now, so can't explain it properly. but thats the rough concept. I would love to do this in the class and I am going to need everyone to help me! PLEASE ALL i need everyone to give 30-40 seconds for me and my camera! (and i hope this idea still makes sense to me when i'm up in the morning! :D) This being the LAST assignment I think i would love remember the bonding i have with everyone and the best way is this assignment! Its about how I see people from my candid eye! I hope that makes sense!
NOW i think i will get some sleep! (Oh I just remembered, I think I had coffee at the wrong time and that's what kept me awake so late! heee!)
David...and everyone; please let me know what do you think of this new idea!

Interactions...
I was thinking that at some point we would need a logo for "interactions". This is the first thing that came to me. The thought behind the font: the purpose of choosing cursive writing is that the letters are joint to each other, that shows the togetherness/ going hand in hand/ interaction with each other.
Shadow in black which is actually overlapping on the writing instead of falling behind the writing also show the interaction. (This is just my idea, I hope it comes across the way I'm trying to put it.)
We can all work on more ideas to see what best comes out of it! Please have a look and suggest! :)

Portrait study....
This is a live portrait study. The reference that David asked us to study from was a real help. This was the first time i kind of got the proportions alright. Than as always, i took a picture of it and got it into photoshop and than I wont say any more...(off course the model was a bid angry coz i drew a real picture and did not hide the double chin and the beard is a bit to dark...but one cant be demanding for a free portrait! ;))

I stitched Sydney together!
This image is shot form the tares of the hostel we stayed when we were in Sydney.
That day we were suppose to do the barbecue there which couldn't happen; but I somehow managed to cook this image up on the tares.
Its not shot without an SLR and a tripod! Its shot on John's mono-pod and my little cannon G11. 5 images made this panorama.(It's not up to the mark if you see it carefully.)
When I go to Sydney next time with my SLR and tripod, maybe I'll also carry more planning and more patience with me!
Challenging car!!!
This was one MASSIVE size to work on! I had never worked on that big size before. It took a lot of time for me to get started. At first i was happy with the way it was going. And THEN we took everyone's boards outside the class and exhibited them. To me, mine looked the weakest. So I decided to give it some push. So I pushed it and pushed it and pushed it and this is where I decided to stop where I thought if I pushed it more, I will really spoil it! And now here it is! Not 100% but I'm working to get there ;)

BLENDER BLENDER FINALLY!!!
Bender...When we started, I thought its an impossible software for my brain!
Well i'm not saying that i have completely got it now, coz most of the tools don't even work on my computer, but making these pots was a really easy task. More than easy it was fun to do! I was more happy because it could be exported into photoshop for us to have some more fun with it! This is my first go with blender blended with photoshop!!!

Teminus...End of the road
Last night was 17th THE Nocturnal. I was happy to see so many people coming in. It was great to see all the people walking in and appreciating our work. Every one had worked really hard for it. It was great to see how Pete got his 200 balloons up in no time when almost every one joined him. It looked great when it was up and running! Alysia's roses whispering as quietly as her.Narmin's hanging torches really looked magical as she did say they have been lit up by "magic"!! John's slides were the show stopper again as everyone really did spend a lot of time playing with them. They really did look great and according to me they worked like magic! Lidia's mobiles in boxes looked GREAT! Great work by James too! Sandra's light and dark was a really nice image there. Ben and Kc(sorry i can't spell your name!) were big helping hand for many many of us!
Even the ideas from other artists from RMIT, were simplistic and great!
I had not been a part of anything like this for a long long time. It was really exciting!
It went smooth because David was carrying all our pressure on his shoulder. How relived he must have felt after everything was up!
In this big event, I thought my images of light drawings with the parking signs would get lost, but I was so happy to find out how wrong I was!
Anyways, so here is my little contribution for the big Nocturnal...

figures in space...
This is one more drawing i worked on for the figures in space. I think the last one that i had printed was very simple. It did take a lot of work though, but this one I htink I like better than the first one that i did. The pictures are from Chinese gardens and the sculpture is from White rabbit gallery.
...I hope I can print this one!

Oh... here is the second image
I have just cut down the yellow/orange and just about pushed the exposure(that's hardly much that i pushed) and i thought it looked like its shot in the evening so i actually had to add a bit of black. But i loved whats happened overall. The green the blue, the brown and what adds is the reflection of the branches on the building!!! It might appear ordinary to some but I'm happy with it! :)

Only if my battery hadn't let me down....
It was all going peacefully...we all were there full on with our tripods shooting in the night. It started off slow for me, but later there I had just starring to find interesting frames and my camera battery decided to sleep!!! What a shame!!! I think i just got 2 images that i liked. This one is one of them....

I miss my clay I left back home...
Sunday was a very relaxed day for me after a long time. I was restless and didn't know why! I felt like I was terribly missing something! I remembered that it had been such a long time that I had dirtied my fingers in wet clay which gave me so much peace.
I often used to play with clay in my free time. I used to buy it from a hobby shop back home in India.
Once in Diwali (Indian festival - the festival of lights) I had surprised my close family members with my own little amateur creations. Some useful things for day to day.
Today I dug my hard drive to find these images to share with everyone. Please have a look...
